Fibromyalgia is a chronic, multisystem disease. Almost two percent of the U.S. population develops this disease between the ages of 35 and 60 years. American women are more likely to have this disease.

It can cause muscle pain, disturbed sleep, tiredness, headache, morning stiffness, numbness in the hands, arms or legs. Other symptoms may be anxiety or weak memory, dryness of mouth, dizziness or depression. Females may have painful menses.

The exact cause of the disease is not known. It may flare up and can remain throughout life.

This disease has no cure but it can be managed with exercise, physical therapy, painkillers and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Visit I and My Doctors Clinic to treat and manage fibromyalgia.
